Shillong: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari is set to visit Shillong on June 15 to headline the North East India Infrastructure (NEIINFRA) Summit. Hosted at the Lariti Performing Arts Centre, the event aims to drive regional connectivity and economic development.

The summit will feature a CEOs Round Table designed to foster collaboration between policymakers, investors, and industry leaders. Participants will focus on identifying infrastructure priorities and exploring new investment opportunities across the Northeast.

Following the summit, Gadkari will attend a ceremony at the Polo Ground to lay the foundation stones for several National Highway projects and formally dedicate existing ones to the nation. These initiatives are intended to improve accessibility to remote locations, facilitate the movement of goods, and stimulate socio-economic growth throughout Meghalaya.

The government stated that these efforts are part of a broader strategy, noting that the visit "underscores the central government's focus on strengthening infrastructure in the Northeast, positioning it as a vital gateway for growth and integration with the rest of the country."
