Aizawl: Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Nimuben Bambhaniya, concluded a multi-day official visit to Mizoram this week. Since arriving on May 14, the minister has been actively evaluating the implementation of various central welfare programs to ensure that the government's inclusive development agenda successfully reaches grassroots communities across the state.
During a visit to Chawngtlai in the Khawzawl district on May 16, Bambhaniya conducted a comprehensive review meeting with the Deputy Commissioner and district administration officials. The discussions focused on optimizing the delivery of government initiatives to ensure that last-mile beneficiaries receive the support intended for them under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Beyond administrative reviews, the minister engaged directly with local residents. She visited homes constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin to inspect the quality of implementation and assess the impact of the housing scheme on rural families. In her discussions with local women, Bambhaniya advocated for the greater utilization of gender-focused central government schemes. She encouraged participants to leverage new resources to gain better market access and achieve long-term financial independence.
