Shillong: Union Minister for Labour and Employment and Youth Affairs and Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya, traveled to Ri-Bhoi district on Sunday to evaluate the progress of central government development initiatives. The visit centered on the Aspirational District Programme, a national project designed to accelerate growth and socio-economic improvements in specific regions.
Mandaviya led a high-level review meeting at the District Rural Development Agency conference hall, where he met with various department officials. Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Saini presented a report detailing the status of local projects, focusing on sectors including education, healthcare, agriculture, rural livelihoods, and social welfare.
The minister examined the performance of these departments to identify ways to strengthen service delivery and local infrastructure. Officials also used the opportunity to address ongoing implementation challenges and discuss strategies to maximize the impact of flagship welfare programs. The visit underscores the federal government's commitment to monitoring progress in Ri-Bhoi and ensuring that targeted interventions effectively serve the local community.
