Agartala: Union Minister for Power and Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar is scheduled to visit Tripura on May 31. His visit is part of a broader three-day tour spanning Mizoram, West Bengal, and Tripura between May 29 and May 31.

During his stay in Agartala, Khattar will participate in an event marking the sixth anniversary of the PM SVANidhi scheme. This initiative, launched by the central government, provides affordable working capital loans to street vendors impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic while encouraging financial inclusion and digital transactions. The minister is expected to meet with beneficiaries from across the northeastern states during this programme.

Beyond the celebratory events, Khattar plans to evaluate the regional power sector. Officials confirmed that he will likely review Tripura's power infrastructure, visit specific power plants, and hold formal meetings with representatives from the state Power Department to discuss ongoing developments.
