Agartala: Union Minister for Housing, Urban Affairs and Power, Manohar Lal Khattar, held high-level review meetings in Agartala on Sunday to evaluate the progress of key development initiatives across Tripura. Joined by Chief Minister Manik Saha, Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath, and top state officials, the Minister stressed the need for strict adherence to project timelines and efficient scheme implementation.

During a session dedicated to the Swachh Bharat Mission, the group explored ways to accelerate urban sanitation improvements. Discussions focused on enhancing scientific waste management and building cleaner, plastic-free urban environments while addressing operational challenges faced by local bodies.

A separate meeting centered on the state power sector, where the Minister called for comprehensive reforms to secure reliable electricity for all residents. The talks included plans to modernize the distribution network, reduce transmission losses, and upgrade consumer services in both urban and rural regions.

Before the review meetings, the Union Minister attended the 6th PM SVANidhi event in Agartala to honor program beneficiaries. This initiative has been instrumental in providing street vendors with better access to credit, digital payment tools, and expanded social security.
