Agartala: Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Tripura on Thursday for a two-day official tour following his participation in the North Eastern Council session in Meghalaya. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha greeted the minister upon his landing at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport in Agartala.
During his stay, the minister will participate in a foundation stone laying ceremony for the proposed Pushpabanta Palace Hotel at the Old Raj Bhavan site. West Tripura District Magistrate Vishal Kumar confirmed that the minister will also preside over a security review meeting at the Border Security Force headquarters in Shalbagan.
"During his visit, the IUnion Home Minister will also chair a high-level review meeting at the Border Security Force (BSF) Headquarters in Shalbagan. The meeting will be attended by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, DGP Anurag Dhankar, Inspector General of BSF Tripura Frontier Princi Rani, along with other senior administrative and security officials", said the DM.
Local authorities have heightened security protocols across the state, with a specific focus on the West Tripura district, to maintain order throughout the duration of the minister's visit.
