Shillong: Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda officially opened a new super-specialty hospital in the Ri-Bhoi district of Meghalaya this week. The facility is expected to serve as a vital resource for residents, providing high-quality medical care within the state and reducing the need for patients to travel elsewhere for specialized treatment.
During the inauguration, Nadda highlighted the government's ongoing focus on upgrading medical infrastructure across Northeast India. He emphasized that establishing modern healthcare centers in challenging, hilly terrain represents a major milestone in strengthening the region's overall health system.
Reflecting on the opening, Nadda shared his appreciation for the project on social media. "It is a matter of great happiness for me to be part of the inauguration ceremony of ARHI Hospital. I thank MLA Alexander Hek for inviting me and extend my heartfelt congratulations to everyone associated with this remarkable initiative," he stated.
Beyond providing clinical services, officials believe the hospital will drive regional growth by creating new job opportunities and fostering an environment of medical excellence. Nadda expressed confidence that the institution will stand as a beacon of hope for locals seeking accessible and advanced healthcare.
