Two Youths Found Dead in Shillong Shop

Shillong: Two men were discovered dead inside a roadside betel nut shop in Lumsohphoh, Nongthymmai, on Sunday morning. The victims have been identified as 22-year-old Semanto Hajong of Ranikor and 21-year-old Pronome Hajong of Balat.

The owner's son found the bodies at 6:30 am and notified his father, who then alerted the local village headman. Law enforcement officials arrived shortly after to secure the scene and begin the required legal procedures.

Authorities have transferred the remains to NEIGRIHMS to undergo a post-mortem examination. While officials are still determining the circumstances of the incident, an initial inquest suggests the deaths may have been self-inflicted. Regarding the ongoing investigation, police stated that "the post-mortem report will confirm the exact cause of death."
