Shillong: Tura MP Saleng Sangma led a review of central government schemes on Monday at the DRDA Conference Hall in Ampati. As chairman of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee, Sangma brought together district officials and committee members to check the status of various public projects.
Department heads reported on completed work and current progress. They also detailed the specific hurdles slowing them down. Sangma pressed officials to coordinate better across departments to ensure projects hit their targets on time.
Public outreach remains a primary concern for the administration. "Sorkarini scheme-rangko, a·songo songdongenggipa mande sakantionan sokatna gita ia scheme-rangni gimin manderangna u·iataniara scheme-ko jako ra·e ka·enggipa department aro officer-rangni daitoan ong·a," Sangma stated. He told staff it is their duty to inform every citizen about the available support.
Representatives from several departments attended the session, including Education, Health, Public Health Engineering, DRDA, Public Works, and MePDCL. Other departments represented were Social Welfare, Food and Civil Supplies, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, Soil and Water Conservation, Tourism, Fisheries, Water Resources, and the District Commerce and Industries Centre.
