Kohima: The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, alongside the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India and local partners, held a distribution event for free assistive devices in Tseminyu on Thursday. The programme took place at the Tseminyu Town Hall, providing essential support to registered senior citizens and individuals with disabilities across multiple villages.

The initiative operated under the Assistance to Disabled Persons and Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana schemes. These programs aim to improve daily accessibility and promote social inclusion for vulnerable populations. Obed Magh, the local Child Development Project Officer, chaired the session while representatives from the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India explained how these government schemes provide aid to those in need.

Deputy Commissioner Japheth Woch oversaw the proceedings and personally handed out the equipment to the recipients. According to a DIPR report, the manager of ALIMCO provided a briefing on the ADIP and RVY schemes, "highlighting their role in supporting accessibility and inclusion." Beneficiaries from across the region, including Tseminyu Town, Zisunyu, Phenda, and several other local communities, attended the event to receive their items.
