Tseminyu Hosts Consumer Awareness Program for Students

Kohima: The Department of Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection teamed up with the Tseminyu District Administration and the Assistant Controller of Kohima to host a consumer awareness session at the Christian School Auditorium. The event drew students and faculty from Baptist Higher Secondary School to discuss practical consumer skills.

Shiloh Kath, the Deputy Controller of Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection, led the presentation by focusing on the core concept of a “Smart and Responsible Consumer.” He urged attendees to remain vigilant about their rights under the Consumer Protection Act by carefully checking product labels, avoiding deceptive advertisements, and making well-informed purchasing decisions.

The session included an interactive segment where students posed questions regarding the Legal Metrology Act 2009. The event ended with closing remarks from Dr. Jochuhyulo Tsela, the administrator of Christian School, who thanked the organizers for their contribution to the students' education.
