Agartala: A new dedicated building for the Auxiliary Nurse and Midwifery school in Durjoynagar, Agartala, is nearing completion. Health Secretary Kiran Gitte confirmed that the facility will be fully operational within the next two months following an official inspection of the site.
The project aligns with a broader initiative directed by Chief Minister Manik Saha to centralize nursing education. By consolidating local nursing institutes into this single campus, the state aims to better manage the growing demand for healthcare services. The new site will house multiple nursing programs and a training school.
Officials intend to integrate hostel facilities into the campus as part of the initial launch. The government also left room for future building expansions. This development comes as the state seeks to reduce patient pressure at institutions like IGM Hospital by improving the quality and accessibility of local health education.
