Agartala: The Tripura State Election Commission has launched preparations for the upcoming village committee elections following the conclusion of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council polls. Commission Secretary Anurag Sen confirmed that election groundwork began immediately after the council results to ensure the village vote proceeds on schedule.

Authorities have finalized 1,550 polling stations across the state. This followed an administrative review process that culminated in a notification issued on May 9. Officials are now focused on finalizing the electoral rolls for the contest, which involves 5,873 seats across 587 village committees.

A draft of the electoral roll will be published on June 2. Residents will have until June 9 to submit claims or objections regarding the list. The Commission plans to publish the final voter roll on June 15. Once the revision process concludes, officials will release the formal election schedule and additional logistical details.
