Agartala: Bijoy Nagar Gram Panchayat in Tripura has earned national recognition for its advancements in digital service delivery. The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions selected the local body for a 2026 National Award for e-Governance, specifically citing its success in deepening service accessibility through digitization at the grassroots level.
This achievement places Bijoy Nagar among 17 projects honored across seven distinct categories this year. These awards acknowledge excellence in digital transformation and innovation in governance. Officials stated that the program aims to "recognize innovation, digital transformation and citizen-centric governance initiatives across the country."
Winning projects receive a trophy, a certificate, and a financial grant to support ongoing community welfare projects. Gold awardees are granted 10 lakh rupees, while silver recipients receive 5 lakh rupees. The official presentation ceremony will take place during the 29th National Conference on e-Governance in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The selection underscores Tripura’s commitment to utilizing technology to improve the reach and efficiency of public administration for its citizens.
