Agartala: Tripura police have successfully rescued a missing housewife and her young child from a hotel in the Rajarhat area of Kolkata. The pair had been reported missing from their home in the border village of Nirbhoypur since May 23.

Prasenjit Majumdar, the woman's husband, initially raised the alarm after she disappeared with their child. The Jatrapur Police Station in the Sepahijala district launched an investigation using mobile signal tracking, social media monitoring, and CCTV analysis to locate them.

A police team, led by Sub-Inspector Bijoy Chakraborty and accompanied by the woman's husband and mother-in-law, traveled to West Bengal to conduct the rescue. The group returned safely to Tripura on Monday. Officer-in-Charge Partha Nath Bhowmik confirmed the operation was carried out based on credible intelligence.

Authorities are continuing to investigate why the woman left her home. Police have advised the family to handle the situation with sensitivity to protect the mother and child from further distress. Local residents have praised the department for the swift and professional recovery.
