Agartala: Tripura Police seized 745 bottles of banned Eskuf cough syrup at the Agartala Head Post Office on June 18. Officers from the West Agartala Police Station discovered the contraband inside eight separate parcels that originated in Kolkata.

This recovery marks the second major interception of illicit cough syrup at the same facility within seven days. West Agartala Police Station Officer-in-Charge Rana Chatterjee noted that the previous operation successfully recovered 393 bottles. Regarding the latest shipment, Chatterjee stated, "Last week, we seized 393 bottles of Eskuf cough syrup from the Head Post Office. Today, we again seized 745 bottles that arrived from Kolkata and were intended for Joyguru Textile at College Tilla in Agartala city. Only a nine-digit mobile number was mentioned in the parcel details."

Authorities believe the shipments are part of an organized effort to traffic controlled substances into the state via postal networks. Investigators are currently working to trace the senders and the intended recipients. Police are also intensifying their monitoring of courier and postal channels to dismantle these trafficking rings and prevent further misuse of the delivery system.
