Agartala: The Tripura government is moving forward with plans to establish a world-class employability hub in Hapania, Agartala. To ensure the facility meets international standards, Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma led a delegation to the World Skill Centre in Bhubaneswar on June 20 to study its operational model.

The upcoming Tripura facility aims to bridge the gap between academic training and modern industry demands. Plans include providing advanced instruction in emerging technologies, entrepreneurship development, and career counseling to better prepare the local workforce for high-growth job sectors.

As part of the collaboration, the Odisha-based centre will serve as a formal Knowledge Partner. Officials confirmed the partnership will focus on technical guidance, stating that the institution will provide support for "infrastructure planning, laboratory design, equipment specifications, curriculum development, certification frameworks, faculty training, industry linkages, and operational strategies."

During their visit, the delegation explored smart classrooms, simulation labs, and industry partnership frameworks. Government officials expect the Hapania site to become a premier Centre of Excellence for the Northeast, providing young people with the practical tools necessary to succeed in a rapidly evolving job market.
