Agartala: Tripura opened its first CAPEX-based electric vehicle charging station at the Banamalipur Power House in Agartala. The Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited built the site with A Plus Charge. It is now open for public use.

Drivers manage everything through a phone app. You pick your vehicle type, pay online, and start the flow of power. The machine kills the charge once the battery hits the target level. It is a fully digital, self-service operation.

The hub packs a 30 kW DC fast charger and a 7.4 kW AC charger. These units handle both private and commercial rigs. TSECL Managing Director Biswajit Basu said the corporation is working on a comprehensive roadmap to expand electric mobility infrastructure across Tripura.

TSECL acts as the state lead for the federal PM E-Drive Scheme. They have already drawn up plans for 94 additional charging stations. These spots will eventually dot urban centers and major highways. Officials hope the growth will cut fuel costs and push drivers away from gasoline.
