Agartala: Tripura Animal Resource Development Minister Sudhangshu Das inaugurated a statewide Foot and Mouth Disease vaccination program on Monday. The launch event took place at the Dighalia Gram Panchayat in the Bamutia R.D. Block, signaling a major effort to protect the region's livestock from the highly contagious virus.

Addressing local farmers and officials, Das explained that the initiative aims to prevent disease outbreaks that threaten animal health and cause significant financial losses. He noted that protecting livestock is essential for the stability of the rural economy, as healthy animals lead to higher productivity and better income for those who raise them.

The minister urged livestock owners to work closely with the Department of Animal Resource Development to ensure the success of the campaign. He stated that the government remains dedicated to improving animal healthcare infrastructure to build a more productive and secure livestock sector. The inaugural ceremony included Department Secretary Deepa D Nair, Director Neeraj Kumar Chanchal, and several local representatives.
