Agartala: The Tripura High Court shut down a legal challenge this week. Judges upheld a lower court ruling that refused to summon Border Security Force personnel. The case stems from a 2019 shooting that left one person dead near the border. Justice was denied.

A magistrate previously looked at the evidence and decided against dragging the guards into the dock. The high court agreed with that call. Officials maintained the legal process did not warrant forced appearances from the BSF officers involved in the skirmish. It remains a closed matter for now.
