Agartala: Tripura Gramin Bank has earned national recognition as the second-best performer among 28 regional rural banks in the Atal Pension Yojana. The bank received the honor during the annual felicitation program held at the ITC Maurya in New Delhi.

Bank Chairman Satyendra Singh accepted the award from senior officials of the Ministry of Finance, including Secretary M. Nagaraju and Special Secretary Sanjay Lohia. The event, hosted by the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority, celebrated institutions that have excelled in expanding pension coverage to rural populations.

The bank maintained a strong record of exceeding its enrollment targets over the past four years. During the most recent fiscal year, the institution secured 27,787 active enrollments against a target of 15,000, reaching 185 percent of its goal. This follows previous years of high performance, which saw target completion rates as high as 351 percent in the 2024-25 period.

Bank leadership attributed this success to the hard work of employees across all branches and a consistent focus on financial inclusion. The achievement marks a significant milestone for the rural banking sector in Tripura, reflecting the state's broader commitment to enhancing social security for its citizens.
