Tripura Government Pledges to Resolve Issues for Former Guerrilla Insurgents

Agartala: Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma has reaffirmed the Tripura government's dedication to supporting former insurgents who have returned to the mainstream. The commitment follows a high-level meeting at the State Secretariat involving members of the Tripura Guerrilla Returnees Demands Committee and various department officials.

During the discussions, authorities reviewed the long-standing concerns and specific demands raised by the returnees. Debbarma noted that the administration is now evaluating these issues to determine the best path forward for practical, lasting solutions.

The Minister stressed that all administrative actions will prioritize transparency and accountability. Regarding the government's approach, he stated, "The demands placed by the delegation have been given serious consideration. The concerned departments have been instructed to take prompt steps and explore practical and acceptable solutions through the necessary administrative procedures."

The state government plans to address these matters through dialogue and mutual trust while operating strictly within the constitutional framework. Debbarma emphasized that ongoing cooperation from all stakeholders is vital to maintaining peace and development in the region as the government continues to work through these issues in a phased manner.
