Agartala: A mobile phone shop owner and content creator, identified as Aditya Das, has been arrested by Tripura Police in connection with a rape investigation. The suspect, a resident of the Kamalpur area in Dhalai district who currently operates two mobile shops in Agartala, was taken into custody late Saturday night by officers from the Amtali Police Station.
According to the official complaint filed at the West Agartala Women Police Station, the victim and the accused initially connected on Facebook three months ago. The woman alleged that Das lured her to Agartala by promising to gift her an expensive iPhone. Upon her arrival by train on Saturday morning, the accused met her on a motorcycle and transported her to a hotel near the railway station.
