Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha launched the Save the Field Campaign on June 26. The government project aims to swap chemical-heavy methods for sustainable organic farming. Saha opened the initiative during a workshop at the Bamutia Berimura School.

The push comes straight from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The goal is to stabilize the national farm economy and build a stronger agricultural sector. Saha argued that profits should not come at the cost of the environment.

He warned against chasing cash through chemical use. Saha told the crowd, "Modern agriculture should not be driven solely by economic gains through the use of chemicals but must also embrace responsibility and accountability towards future generations."

The campaign focuses on soil health. It promotes environmental protection and lasting productivity. Farmers now face a shift toward greener, more responsible growing cycles.
