Itanagar: Naharlagun police arrested 29-year-old Tamchi Nido after a woman caught him filming her in a hospital washroom. Nido, a sanitary supervisor at the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences, allegedly stuck his phone through a ventilation opening at 7:30 a.m. on June 25 near the ICCU block.
The victim raised an alarm when she spotted the device. Nido tried to bolt. He also attempted to wipe data from his Redmi 11T 5G before officers caught him. Inspector Krishnendu Dev detained the suspect at the scene. He later faced formal charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Police discovered several incriminating videos on the phone during a forensic check. Nido admitted to secret recording for months. Investigators are now searching for other victims.
Superintendent of Police Dr. Nyelam Nega said the force is working to ensure justice. "Police are committed to carrying out a thorough and impartial investigation to ensure justice for all affected victims."
