Imphal: The Tribal Youth Council Manipur (TYCM) has praised the Manipur Legislative Assembly Secretariat for moving its recruitment process for Driver, Mali, Sweeper, and Multi-Tasking Staff roles online. The organization expressed gratitude toward the Speaker and state officials for accepting digital applications between June 8 and June 10.
Despite this progress, the council raised concerns regarding the Department of Art and Culture. The department continues to rely on offline submissions for various Grade-IV contractual positions. The TYCM emphasized that current unrest and transport disruptions make it nearly impossible for many candidates from hill districts to travel to collection centers to submit their paperwork in person.
The organization has previously petitioned the Chief Minister, the Chief Secretary, and the Assembly Secretary to standardize digital applications across all state departments. Their goal is to ensure equal opportunity for every job seeker in the state regardless of their location.
The TYCM is now calling on the government to mandate online application systems across all departments. The council stressed that these systems should also include provisions for the online entry of Employment Exchange Sponsoring Numbers, stating, "The organisation said it had earlier submitted representations to the Chief Secretary, the Secretary of the Manipur Legislative Assembly and the Chief Minister seeking online application facilities for all government recruitment processes."
