Guwahati: A fast-track court moved forward with the Zubeen Garg death case on Tuesday by officially framing charges against all seven accused individuals. This development follows a chargesheet submitted by the Criminal Investigation Department and transitions the matter into the formal trial stage.

The individuals facing charges include Shyamkanu Mahanta, Siddhartha Sharma, Amrit Prava Mahanta, Shekhar Jyoti Goswami, Sandipon Garg, Paresh Baishya, and Nandeshwar Borah. The court reached this decision after carefully reviewing the evidence and materials presented by investigators.

Legal representative Ziaur Kamar confirmed that the court finalized the specific allegations and legal sections applicable to each defendant. With the administrative process complete, the court will begin recording witness statements on June 8. Additional hearings are expected to take place throughout the following weeks to move the case forward.
