Shillong: Trinamool Congress MLA Dr. Mizanur Rahman Kazi ripped into the state government on Friday. He cited administrative negligence, crumbling infrastructure, and a lack of transparency in West Garo Hills. The Rajabala representative warned that public agitation is coming if officials fail to fix these ongoing issues.
Kazi pointed to a recent short-circuit at New Bhaitbari Bazar as proof of incompetence. He said the incident exposed the "pathetic condition" of the Electricity Department. The MLA demanded a full inquiry and immediate safety upgrades. He argued that officials cannot ignore basic maintenance when lives are on the line.
The criticism continued regarding local governance. Kazi claimed the government is stalling Village Employment Council elections despite clear orders from the High Court. He also highlighted alleged irregularities involving work orders in the Batabari and Demdema C&RD Blocks.
Construction quality drew further fire. Kazi slammed the recent repairs on the AMPT road, which Midas Constructions handled. He stated the road is already falling apart and blasted the waste of public funds. He claims the government ignores his pleas for political reasons. He expects the state to act fast or face a fight for justice.
