Shillong: TMC leader Sairill D Marak filed a police complaint against JC Infra Corporation Ltd. for poor workmanship on a PMGSY road project. The road stretches between Kherapara and Diganggre. Marak lodged the FIR at the Asugre police outpost after visiting Anigre village on August 1. He spotted workers mixing ordinary local soil with cement for roadside drains. They ignored project rules requiring river sand.
Marak claims these actions cheat the government and endanger the public. “Such conduct may indicate an attempt to misrepresent the quality of the work, causing wrongful loss to the government and exposing the public to safety risks,” Marak stated. He argues the subpar materials gut the core goal of the PMGSY scheme to build durable rural infrastructure.
The complaint demands a spot inspection. Police must seize material samples for lab testing. Marak wants the project stopped until investigators finish their work. He also insists the contractor tear down and rebuild any section failing engineering standards.
