Guwahati: Tinsukia Police apprehended two men in the Pengeri area on May 30 for their alleged connections to the United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent). The suspects, identified as Dulav Moran and Rongat Moran from Nalani village, are accused of acting as linkmen for the banned insurgent organization.

Authorities conducted the arrests following specific intelligence reports. Investigators believe the pair facilitated communication between the outfit and local contacts, and they suspect the men were preparing to join the militant group. Both individuals are currently undergoing interrogation as part of an active investigation into the insurgency network.

These latest detentions are part of a wider security push targeting the support systems of ULFA (I). Over the past week, law enforcement agencies have arrested 12 people across Assam and neighboring states for alleged ties to the group. Officials report that these ongoing operations have successfully disrupted key segments of the organization's regional network. Police continue to investigate to identify additional associates and determine the full reach of these activities.
