Guwahati: Tinsukia Deputy Commissioner Sumit Sattawan and MLA Suren Phukan visited Digboi on Wednesday to survey two key infrastructure projects designed to improve local services and town planning. The officials inspected a site at No. 1 Borbil, which is earmarked for a new Integrated Government Office Complex.

Spanning approximately 100 bighas of land, the complex has already received approval from the Chief Minister. Once functional, it will house the Sub-Divisional Commissioner’s Office, the Block Development Officer’s Office, the Public Works Department, and the Revenue Circle Officer’s Office. Authorities intend to consolidate these services to boost administrative efficiency and reduce delays for the public.

During the visit, the delegation also evaluated a plot at No. 1 Axomiya Gaon intended for the relocation of the weekly Sunday market currently held at Tingrai Tinali. Officials hope the move will resolve persistent traffic congestion and sanitation problems at the current site. According to MLA Suren Phukan, the two initiatives will improve infrastructure and governance in the constituency. He stated, "The two initiatives would improve infrastructure and governance in the constituency."

The inspection included Sub-Divisional Commissioner Phyllis V.H. Rangchal, along with various local stakeholders and elected representatives. Preparatory work is currently underway, and both projects are slated to proceed into the implementation phase shortly.
