Three Die After Toxic Gas Exposure in Assam Septic Tank Accident

Guwahati: Three people died in Goalpara, Assam, following a fatal accident involving a septic tank at an under-construction toilet facility. The victims, identified as house owner Jochok Rabha, Krishna Ray, and Dilip Das, succumbed after entering the tank during construction work.

A fourth individual, Bajpayee Rabha, was rescued from the scene and remains in critical condition. He is currently receiving medical treatment at a local hospital. Officials suspect that trapped toxic gases within the tank caused the victims to suffer severe respiratory distress.

Local police arrived at the site in Goraimari to recover the bodies, which were subsequently transported to Nidhinuram Rajbongshi Civil Hospital for post-mortem examinations. The tragedy has prompted local concern regarding the lack of safety protocols during septic tank maintenance and construction.
