Aizawl: A speeding car slammed into a parked truck in Kolasib town early Tuesday morning, killing three people. Two others survived the wreck with injuries. The collision happened at 2 am on National Highway 306, a vital artery linking Mizoram to Silchar in Assam.

The car carried an Assam registration and headed toward Aizawl when it struck the stationary truck. The force of the impact shoved the heavy truck more than 50 metres from where it sat. Police officers and volunteers from the Young Mizo Association rushed to the scene to begin a rescue operation.

Crews pulled two occupants alive from the twisted metal. They recovered the three bodies trapped inside the wreckage later. Police confirmed the details of the incident and are currently investigating the crash. "The accident took place at around 2 am on National Highway-306," police said.
