Imphal: The VDF Welfare Association of Thoubal District has provided Rs. 3 lakh in financial aid to the family of late VDF personnel Thokchom Manglem Singh. Singh, who was stationed at the Heirok B Company outpost, died on May 21, 2026, after a road accident.
Thoubal Superintendent of Police Manoj Prabhakar M. presented the funds to the deceased officer's wife, Th. Sonamani Devi, during a formal event at his office. The payment was drawn from the VDF Welfare Fund to assist the family during their period of bereavement.
Several officials witnessed the handover, including Additional Superintendent of Police P. Shanker Singh, Reader Officer Y. Shankerdash Mangang, and cashier S. Shoba Singh. Executive committee members from the VDF Welfare Association also attended the ceremony, underscoring the organization's ongoing commitment to supporting Village Defence Force families during times of crisis.
