Imphal: The Thadou Students’ Association welcomed Mukesh Singh, IPS, to his new role as Director General of Police for Manipur following his official assumption of charge on June 1, 2026, at the police headquarters in Mantripukhri. The organization issued a formal statement expressing hope for decisive leadership under the new command.

This call to action follows the group's previous warnings regarding a total breakdown of law and order within the state. The association specifically cited a critical intelligence failure and the collapse of the state police apparatus in the wake of a May 13, 2026, terrorist ambush. That attack targeted innocent Thadou church leaders along the Kotlen-Kotzim inter-village road.

By addressing the new DGP, the student organization is pushing for immediate justice for the victims of the attack. They are demanding that the police force take concrete steps to dismantle the current security environment that allowed the violence to occur.
