Tension Rises in Manipur After Two Trucks Set Ablaze in Senapati

Imphal: Tension remains high in Manipur's Senapati district after two trucks were set on fire in Karong on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred just hours after officials recovered six bodies in the same region, prompting a heightened security presence as authorities look for answers.

The fire broke out at approximately 7:20 pm at a local dumping site. The vehicles, a container truck and a six-wheeler, had arrived from Imphal earlier in the afternoon. Both trucks were empty when they caught fire, and fire service personnel successfully contained the blaze before it could spread to neighboring properties.

Local officials report that the drivers of both trucks are currently missing. According to sources, "The exact cause of the fire remains unknown." Police have opened an inquiry into the matter, and security agencies are continuing to monitor the area closely while searching for the missing drivers.
