Shillong: Tengjrang K Marak has officially received his PhD in Sociology from William Carey University in Shillong. His doctoral research focused on the "Socio-Cultural Transformation of Garo Tribe in the North Garo Hills District of Meghalaya."
Marak conducted his studies under the guidance of Prof (Dr) Gita Pyal, who serves as the Head of the Department of Sociology at the university. A resident of Konapara village in Bajengdoba, North Garo Hills, he is the son of Francis D Sangma and Hesdia K Marak.
