Tanker driver dies after crash in Dima Hasao

Guwahati: A tanker carrying formalin flipped over near Jatinga on Thursday. The driver died in the wreck. Local police confirmed the crash occurred within the Haflong Police Station jurisdiction as the vehicle traveled from Namrup toward Tripura.

The truck, registered as NL 01 AE 3886, lost control on the road. Saiful Haque, 36, was behind the wheel. The victim lived in Bartlowa under the Dhaligaon Police Station in Chirang district. He suffered severe injuries during the rollover.

Rescuers rushed him toward the Haflong Civil Hospital. Officials said the man "succumbed to his injuries on the way" to the facility. Investigators have not determined why the tanker lost control. Police are currently processing legal paperwork and continuing their probe into the fatal accident.
