Students compete in Kohima essay contest

Kohima: Thirty-one students gathered at the RCS office complex in Meriema on June 30. They competed in an essay writing contest held to mark five years of the Ministry of Cooperation. The event fell under the umbrella of the Cooperative Week Celebration.

Students represented Don Bosco HSS, Northfield School, G Rio HSS, Ruzhukhrie HSS and TM Govt HSS. They wrote on the theme: "Cooperatives for a Peaceful World: Strengthening Communities through Cooperation, Inclusiveness and Sustainable Development."

The competition aimed to teach kids about the cooperative movement. Organizers want the youth to understand how these groups drive economic justice and social harmony. It is all about building a peaceful world. Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav will announce the winners on July 3. He will hand out awards at Lok Bhavan in Kohima. Bokato Hesso, Joint Registrar of Cooperative Societies, confirmed the details in a press release.
