State officials audit Nongstoin Civil Hospital services

Shillong: Health Secretary Ramkumar S. toured Nongstoin Civil Hospital on Monday. He checked the status of local medical care. The visit aimed to audit the hospital’s infrastructure, staffing levels, and the availability of essential services for West Khasi Hills residents.

Ramkumar holds several key roles including Mission Director of the National Health Mission, Managing Director of the Meghalaya Medical Services Delivery Corporation Limited, and CEO of the Meghalaya Health Insurance Scheme. He met with hospital staff to talk about service delivery and operational gaps. The team identified specific areas requiring intervention to ensure the public gets better access to quality care.

Local leadership attended the review session. West Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner Hema Nayak and District Medical and Health Officer Dr. Meribha Sohliya were present. Joining them were Medical Superintendent of the Mother and Child Hospital, Dr. Ridaker Kharrubon, along with state officials and healthcare workers. Hospital authorities provided a detailed brief on current operations and future needs. Officials stated the visit highlighted the state government’s “continued focus on strengthening healthcare infrastructure and improving service delivery in West Khasi Hills.”
