Guwahati: Sivasagar Police arrested Kirtikamal Dev Goswami late Wednesday night. He is the son of Sachindradev Goswami, the Deka Satradhikar of Sri Sri Salaguri Satra. The arrest followed seven hours of intense questioning by investigators.
A 19-year-old male Bhaona artist filed the FIR. He alleges Kirtikamal abused him repeatedly starting when he was 15 years old. The victim claims the suspect used physical violence and mental torture to maintain control. He performed female roles in traditional theatre.
The victim alleges the accused kept incriminating videos of him. These recordings were reportedly used for coercion. "The accused recorded multiple videos of the complainant on his mobile phone and retained them, allegedly using the recordings to coerce him and prevent him from disclosing the incidents."
Police registered Case Number 130/2026. Charges include the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Officers also invoked Section 377. The investigation remains active as authorities examine all collected evidence.
