Itanagar: Support for the proposed Siang Upper Multipurpose Project reached a new milestone this week as 13 additional households in Sitang village signed the Pre Feasibility Report. This latest development brings the total number of participating households to 71 out of 84, representing more than 84 percent of the community.

The Siang Upper project aims to serve as a long-term solution for energy security and regional infrastructure development. The current phase involves initial assessments and community discussions, which must occur before any formal project clearances are granted.

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein praised the residents and local officials for their progress. He emphasized that the project reflects a strategic vision for Arunachal Pradesh while maintaining that ongoing stakeholder engagement remains vital to ensure local concerns are addressed at every stage of the planning process.
