Guwahati: Silchar Sadar Police dismantled an alleged theft racket after a raid on a local scrap shop. Officers caught two men during the operation. Authorities arrested 55-year-old Shahabuddin Laskar and 25-year-old Rahim Uddin Choudhury, both from the Madhurband area.

The raid turned up a mountain of stolen goods. Police seized two motorcycles, silencers, spare parts, and a collection of cutting and charging machines. The suspects allegedly brought stolen bikes to the shop to strip them down for quick cash. The resale of parts kept the operation running.

Police currently hold the recovered items as evidence. Investigators are now working to track down the owners of the stolen property. They also want to find other members of the ring. A police official stated, "The investigation is underway to identify other members of the alleged theft racket and trace the rightful owners of the recovered property."
