Sikkim MP Urges Border Roads Organisation to Accelerate Lachen Route Repairs

Gangtok: Sikkim Member of Parliament Dr. Indra Hang Subba met with the Director General of the Border Roads Organisation in New Delhi to push for the urgent restoration of critical road networks in the state. The discussion focused on speeding up repairs for several National Highways and key corridors, including the Singtam to Dikchu road.

Dr. Subba stressed that restoring the Lachen route is a top priority for the Sikkim government, noting that Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang recently addressed the issue in a high-level meeting. He urged officials to ramp up maintenance efforts to protect the economic and social well-being of local residents.

Reflecting on the urgency of the situation, Dr. Subba stated, "Re-establishing connectivity to the region remains one of the top priorities of the Government of Sikkim."

The Director General of the Border Roads Organisation promised that the agency would take all necessary steps to fast-track the work and manage infrastructure challenges. Dr. Subba concluded the meeting by calling for tighter coordination between all agencies to ensure that roads are repaired quickly and safely for the people of Sikkim.
