Sikkim Legislative Assembly to Convene for Budget Session on June 29

Gangtok: The Sikkim Legislative Assembly will begin its Budget session on June 29. According to an official notification released on June 12, the House will gather at 11 a.m. in the Gangtok Assembly Hall to conduct government business.

Sikkim Legislative Assembly Secretary Palit Kumar Gurung confirmed that Speaker Mingma Norbu Sherpa has reconvened the House under Rule 16 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business. Officials expect the session to span five days, during which the administration will present the annual Budget for the financial year.

The 32-member Assembly will focus on the formal presentation, discussion, and passage of the state budget. Beyond financial planning, the session will address various legislative matters and regional concerns. As noted in the official announcement, the Speaker has called the meeting "under Rule 16 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business of the Assembly."
