Shillong: Shillong is set to host the North East India Infrastructure Summit and Exhibition 2026 on June 15 and 16 at the Lariti Performing Centre. The event, organized by the Federation of Industry and Commerce of North Eastern Region, aims to become a major hub for regional policy dialogue and investment. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari will inaugurate the two-day gathering, which is being held with the support of the Meghalaya government and Build India.

The summit expects over 800 delegates, including 300 senior government officials and representatives from all eight Northeastern states. Industry leaders and investors will join officials from multiple Union ministries to explore development strategies across sectors like roads, aviation, digital connectivity, and tourism. Organized sessions and a large exhibition will highlight emerging technologies and infrastructure solutions.

Sanjay Goyal, chair of the organizing committee, emphasized the importance of the event for the region. He noted that the future of infrastructure rests on three key pillars: "People, Prosperity and Planning." Organizers intend for the summit to act as a catalyst for growth, strengthening public-private partnerships while providing a platform for knowledge exchange. Knowledge support for these discussions will be provided by IIM Shillong, HVS Anarock, and Invest India.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has extended an invitation to regional leaders and policymakers to attend the event as guests. The summit serves as a collaborative effort to improve connectivity and foster sustainable economic development across the Northeast.
