Shillong Students Join Fight Against Drug Abuse

Shillong: Students across Shillong hit the mats Saturday for a push against substance abuse. The East Khasi Hills District Yogasana Sports Association teamed up with the District Social Welfare Office to host special sessions at Shillong College and Buddha Bhanu Saraswati College.

A total of 135 participants took part in the event. They practiced various yogasanas during the sessions. The gathering served as a key part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, a government initiative aimed at ridding the country of illicit drugs.

Beyond the physical training, the group took a formal step forward. Participants engaged in a "digital pledge in support of the fight against illicit drugs and substance abuse."
