Shillong: Students and staff from the Martin Luther Christian University joined the Himalayan Clean Up 2026 initiative on Wednesday. Participants from the Department of Environment and Traditional Ecosystems cleaned the Nongrah campus, the nearby river, and the Lapalang market area. The project included a waste audit designed to track plastic consumption patterns and promote sustainable habits across the Himalayan region.
Shillong police are asking for the public's help to find two people reported missing in the last two weeks. Fifteen-year-old Sonia Debnath disappeared on May 21 while wearing a green blouse and black pants. Twenty-five-year-old Ebenezer Laloo has been missing since May 30.
