Shillong Faces Eight-Hour Water Supply Shutdown on June 15

Shillong: The Public Health Engineering Department has scheduled a major water supply disruption for Shillong and its surrounding areas on June 15. The shutdown will last for eight hours, starting at 10 am and concluding at 6 pm.

Crews are performing this work to replace aging pumping machinery at the Stage-I and Stage-II pumping stations of the Greater Shillong Water Supply Scheme. Officials confirmed that the work is necessary to maintain the long-term functionality of the infrastructure.

The department stated that "every effort will be made to restore and resume the supply at the earliest." Residents should plan accordingly for the lack of water service throughout the workday on Monday.
