Severe Waterlogging Disrupts Classes and Exams at Silchar Primary School

Guwahati: Students and staff at the 365 No. Uttar Krishnapur Primary School in Silchar are facing a major crisis as heavy waterlogging has left the campus almost entirely submerged. The flooding has inundated classrooms, bringing daily academic operations to a complete halt and making the site nearly inaccessible for teachers.

The situation is particularly dire because monthly examinations are scheduled to begin on June 9. With the campus underwater, the future of these assessments remains uncertain, causing significant anxiety among families and faculty members.

Parents attribute the persistent flooding to a long-standing failure of the local drainage system. They are now calling on the district administration and the education department to conduct an immediate site inspection and implement a permanent solution to the drainage issues.

Local residents and guardians are demanding swift administrative intervention to restore the school. They have warned that if the problem is not addressed within a week, "they will be forced to launch a larger agitation" to secure a safe environment for students.
